Grand Cayman - Cayman Islands - Mainstay Sailing - A MUST DO

by chooka_79

Visiting Grand Cayman and wondering what you should do, book a trip on board Mainstay Sailing. You will not be disappointed, if it be for a couple of hours or a couple of nights. It's a must do.

When you arrive in Grand Cayman, a trip with Mainstay sailing should be priority number.  If it be a group of friends, family, romantic trip it will be an experience of a life time.  On board the 45’ Catamaran you will be swept away into the Caribbean lifestyle, and feel as though you are on your own private catamaran.  Here John the captain and owner will personalise your trip, if it be adventure and or relaxation you seek, he will not disappoint.

This is a great way of seeing some of the attractions Grand Cayman has to offer on and under the water.
Stingray City is a great start.  Pull up here after a short sail out to the sand bar.  There are few areas to stingray city, a deep area and also a shallow standing sand bar, and not forgetting the reef.  The shallow part, the sand bar is great for families and for people that are not very confident in the water.  Here you can build up the courage to jump in the water (waste deep), and feed and hold a stingray.  When organising your trip, speak to John and try and organise it for a day in which the cruise ships are not it.  This will allow you to possibly have the sandbar all to yourself.

After you have had enough cuddles from the stingrays, why not head out to the banks for some fishing.  Hopefully John can assist in catching some tasty lunch for all.  If you’re not into fishing, just sit up the front and enjoy the ride.  Once lunch is caught you could head back into West End, where the ship wreck of the kittiwake resides.  This is part of a marine park, so no fishing.  Great for both snorkelling and diving the ship will rest 64 feet deep at the bottom and be only 15 feet from the surface.  Diving, there is an endless amount of rooms to explore, and snorkeling on the surface you will be able to appreciate the smoke stack and the main decks of the ship.  Just let John know when you make your booking, and he will organize your passes to the marine park.

The options are endless on board the Enchantress, picture your perfect holiday sailing around Grand Cayman and John will make it happen.
