Modern art centre in an old monastery and ceramics factory.

The Contemporary Arts Centre was founded in 1990, and can be found at the Cartuja Monastery, on the site of Expo '92. The permanent collection focuses on the history of contemporary Andalusian art and the way it relates to other Spanish and international artistic contexts, and includes works by, among others, Luis Gordillo, Candida Hofer, Rebecca Horn, Pablo Palazuelo and Joseph Kosuth. The centre also aims to study of the creation of artworks with seminars and workshops, lectures, meetings etc. The monastery itself is an important historic building, and the visitor can see the old chapels and cloisters, the gardens, and the old pottery kilns.

Visit to the monument or to the temporary exhibitions, 1.80 euros. Complete visit, 3 euros. Annual pass 12 euros. You can visit for free at the following times: 
Tue-Fri 7pm-9pm & Sat 11am-9pm.
