Perfectly preserved fishing village framed by ancient boathouses cut into the cliffs.

By no means undiscovered, Cala Figuera is quite a bustling little place these days, but it’s the old part of it that I adore. The whitewashed fishing village was built up along the shallow cliffs of the natural quay and forms part of a lovely walk, level with the water.

Expert tips

You can bathe off the jetties here, but watch out for boats sputtering in and out.

Add a little sparkle with oysters and cold, white wine at Restaurante Petit Iglesia (C/La Marina 11, 971 645 009).
