Burriana Beach

Address: Paseo de la Burriana, Nerja, 29780, Spain

- Free

Nerja’s longest, most famous and commercialised beach.

I love taking a stroll from the historic town centre to Burriana Beach via a meandering path through huge rocks, from where you can grab glimpses of the beach down below. It takes about 15 minutes to get down to the seashore, but take your time as the path is steep and you’ll want to breathe in those thrilling views.

Families, couples, youngsters, in fact almost everyone, heads for Playa Burriana as there are plenty of restaurants, cafés and bars on the beach itself - plus there’s a plethora of water sports on offer for the more adventurous.

Value for money

Price advice

Grab yourself a sunbed and palm umbrella at the water’s edge for five euros.

Expert tips

If you're relying on the bus to get you back up to the town, check the timetable first.

Ayo restaurant has the best paellas on the beach.

Head to the beach bars to eat before 3pm on weekends as they get very busy and you may not get a table.
