Scenic hilltop town in a valley of 1,000 palm trees.

I love to drive up here on a hot day. The oasis of green is a world away from Lanzarote's black volcanic landscape and its beachside crowds. My passengers sometimes gasp as we round a series of hairpin bends on the approach to the town and gasp again at the sight from the viewpoint, Mirador del Rio from where, you can see as far as La Graciosa on a clear day. Haría is a delightful place to wander around, exploring its narrow streets dripping with brightly coloured bougainvilaea and taking shade in the leafy main square.
