Classy art and artefacts museum with gorgeous setting and stunning views.

With such a beautiful setting – an early 20th century villa set amid lush grounds overlooking the Bosphorus – it’s easy to be distracted from the museum itself, but the rotating exhibits, often focused on art and artefacts from the Islamic world, are always interesting and well-presented. There’s also a permanent collection of early Turkish paintings, Ottoman calligraphy, and 18th and 19th century furniture, as well as an outpost of Changa, one of the best restaurants in the city.
