Ibiza’s most iconic modern beach, full of beautiful people and rustic beach bars.

They say there’s a magical energy at Las Salinas, and I have to agree. Fragrant forests surround rolling sand dunes and as you walk down the pathways to the beach itself, the view is like nothing else – blue sky and sea as far as the eye can see, peppered with beautiful yachts, fluffy white clouds and beautiful people hailing from all over the globe strutting their stuff on the sand. If ever there was a postcard perfect Ibiza beach, this is the place.

Eating and drinking

There’s a small supermarket across the road for snacks, sandwiches and drinks and Boutique Hostal Salinas Restaurant sells takeaway lunch packs. There is also an array of beach bars and each has its own vibe – be prepared to trek up and down until you find the one that suits you. I like Jockey Club and Sa Trinxa.

Expert tips

Arrive early to get parking – it can be chaos driving in and out between about 1pm and 6pm in July and August!

Stop to admire the sunset over the salt plains on your way out – breathtaking.

Forget lilos – the water here is so salty from the neighboring salt flats you can float naturally for hours!

Take a hike to the north end of the beach, all the way to the pirate watch tower, and you’ll find a cool little secluded inlet with amazing rock carvings.
