A family-friendly Winelands experience with an emphasis on food and wine.

Situated between Stellenbosch and Franschhoek, this family-friendly estate is a destination well worth visiting. Your kids will love visiting the goats that climb their tower and the cheese tasting is a great way to expand their foodie repertoire (you can also buy a selection of their cheese offerings here – I love their brie and Pont Le Veque style La Beryl). You can also visit their cellar for a tasting and to order ones to be shipped home (their La Capra range of wines offer easy drinking value-for-money buys) but to be honest, I think the best way to appreciate this estate is to sit down at The Goatshed for lunch, order a platter or any of their menu light eats, a bottle of their estate wine (try the Fairview Goats do Roam – a play on the classic French red) and soak in the valley views.
