Waves, wind and wonderful views at this picturesque beach destination.

Though it has arguably the best views of Table Mountain in the city, the name means 'blue mountain beach' and refers to a small mountain situated nearby. Names aside, the views from here really are spectacular and well worth negotiating  the notorious traffic for. This is a sportsmen's paradise and is well known for the kite surfing and surfing that happens here  - the former sees kiteboarders venture out onto the water  almost every day as the prevailing winds really do prevail. The main stretch of beach is known as Big Bay while if you walk for a kilometre or so, you'll come to Little Bay where families frolic in the relatively warmer waters - be warned by warmer, I mean a degree or so, this stretch of the Atkantic coastline is icy.
