Stunning picture postcard sandy beach less than half an hour’s drive from Calella.

A fantasy stretch of completely unspoilt, crescent-shaped, sandy beach with unbelievably clear water and not a building in sight. (This is no accident as there was a major rumpus about it in the 1990s when local residents campaigned to save it from development.) Perhaps unsurprisingly, it gets pretty busy in the summer months but if you want more privacy, there are also lovely little coves, tucked away amidst the pine forests at either end. If you want a break from the sun and the sand, there’s a xiringuito shack on the beach for snacks or you can head off to the promontory at the end of the beach to explore the ruins of a sixth century Iberian settlement. The nearest town is Palamos.
