As Tossa is a small town you’re not going to find big name shopping outlets here, but you will find everything you might need for a day or a week on the beach, some nice little boutiques, great cakes, sweets and ceramics (great for gifts or souvenirs) and some excellent weekly markets. Tossa has also historically attracted its fair share of artists since the 1930s, so you’ll also find quite a few galleries dotted around, particularly around the old town.
The patisserie Forn de Pa Aragay (Calle Sant Antoni, 6) sells exceptional, huge meringues (alongside a blown up sepia photo of Ava Gardner).
For ceramics, check out the large shop on Avenida Ferran Agullo.
For beachware, fruit and veg and pretty much everything you could ever think of household-wise, almost up to the kitchen sink, head to the weekly Thursday market on the Rambla Pau Casals. You’ll also find leather goods, toiletries, toys and fake Lacoste polo shirts.
