The bottom line is Deià is not a very good place to come if you want to go shopping, although the village shop on the main road does a nice line in picnic fodder. Valldemossa is better if you’re in the market for country crafts like silk or cashmere scarves, handmade jewellery and the works of local artists, and you could easily loose a couple of hours here browsing. Also worth a gander on the road to Valldemossa is Lafiore (www.lafiore.com) for luxe, handblown glassware.
