The port town of Supetar is the best place for food shopping if you are self-catering on Brač – you'll find Konzum (Malešnice bb, Supetar) and Kerum (Hrvatskih velikana 4, Supetar) here. These two stores both have slightly smaller outlets in Bol - Konzum (Riva bb) and Kerum (Uz Pjacu 7).
Also in Bol, Jako Vino (Bračka cesta 13, Bol; +385 21 635120) is a renowned wine producer dating back to 1903 (though the name has changed several times since then). Their cellars were renovated in autumn 2009 and you can come here to try their wines, including white Pošip, red Sv. Vid and rose Opol, and also purchase bottles to bring home.
Nearby, the Botteri Gallery (Rudina 28, Bol; +385 21 635780, www.botteri.net ) displays paintings by local artists Josip Botteri Dini and Ana Marija Botteri Peruzović – their favourite themes are local landscapes and seascapes, making fine mementoes of your stay on the island.
In Postira, Brač Fini Sapuni (Prodol bb, Postira; + 385 21 632168; www.bracfinisapuni.com) make soap made from virgin olive oil, scented with various essential oils extracted from local plants such as pine, rosemary, sage, lavender and basil. You can buy their products from a shop in an old stone house on the seafront.
