Sotogrande’s nightlife is surprisingly low key for such a popular resort, albeit an exclusive one, on the Mediterranean - especially as it has such a beautiful marina.
The evenings I’ve spent here have generally evolved around a few pre-dinner drinks on the water’s edge with friends and family, followed by a beautiful meal in one of the nearby restaurants. It’s all very civilised. Those looking for a wilder night out, tend to head for Estepona or Puerto Banús.
My favourite bar for an evening drink is Ke Bar (Paseo del Puerto, Sotogrande Marina; +34 956 795 528), located right on the frontline of the marina. If you’re there in summer, you’ll probably notice it is a popular hangout for post-match drinks for polo teams and their admirers. Another seasonal highlight is Flaherty’s Irish Bar (Paseo del Puerto, Sotogrande Marina; +34 956 790 390; www.flahertysotogrande.com) where the Emerald Isle meets the Med.
