Food and drink
There is a great selection of traditional tapas dishes like patatas bravas, battered squid and croquetas – all very reasonably priced, as well as tostadas – rustic white toast with puréed tomatoes and fillings like jamon Iberico, tuna, local sausages and cheeses. I usually go for my favourite - gambas al ajillo (garlic prawns), which is particularly good.
Enjoy the small tables on a pretty flower-laden garden terrace or if it’s raining (as it was last time I was there) the tiny room with white walls, paintings of the old town and a blue and white tiled bar. There are only about four tables so this is about as cosy as it gets. Like sitting in a traditional Spanish kitchen which just happens to be run by a good cook.
Staff are friendly.
It's on the steep winding path up to the castle ruins in Tossa’s walled old town.
Tapas dishes are approximately 4-7 euros each. Gambas al ajillo is 6.90 euros.
