Food and drink
This is traditional Catalan cooking – hearty and robust but with wonderful combinations of salty and sweet like duck with fruit sauce. They also do lobster to order and I’m a particular fan of their fish soup. This isn’t by any means the cheapest menu of the day you’ll find in Tossa, but you’ll be hard pushed to beat it for location, views and ambience.
The shady, leafy terrace is a real oasis in the height of summer. Inside, the beamed ceiling rooms have walls covered with paintings and spectacular views through porthole windows down to the beach below.
Staff are friendly and attentive - old school without being stuffy.
It's about a third of the way up the steep hill on the way to Tossa’s ruined castle in the walled old town.
Lunchtime menu of the day is 23 euros.
