Funky vegan diner that keeps carnivores coming back.

From tasty early morning breakfasts of buckwheat waffles and huevos rancheros to late night chilli sin carne, this meat-free mecca on the edge of the west side lures in vegans, vegetarians and carnivores alike.

Food and drink

Great quality food and decent portions, there's a light Mexican/Italian-tint to most items on the menu. It's great value and the drinks list is extensive.

Recommended dishes

I love slouching in for the all day breakfast or for a lunchtime chilli bowl, but I always leave room for the tangy lemon meringue pie.

Ambience

Hip, laidback and decorated in a jumble sale meets mad grandma chic style. The collection of Pez dispensers by the toilets is a highlight. It can feel like a friendly hangout or a wee bit romantic, depending on what you need it to be.

Service

Easy going and friendly.

Location

A little out of the way, but really, only a little. Sadie's is just a block off Queen and a couple north of King, at Bathurst.

Price advice

Everything is a deal here, you really can't go wrong.
