A consistently-good, Spanish-influenced British menu.

They’ve got the best bits of Andalucia and Britain working well together in this gastro pub: relaxed and hospitable; efficient and original. For me it’s one of the unsung heroes of Sotogrande and a happy addition to the area’s restaurant scene. I’ve spent many happy hours using its free WiFi, having a beer, and chatting to fellow diners/drinkers. It’s one of those places where you think you’ll go in ‘just for one’…

Food and drink

The food is as intriguing as the establishment’s name. The award-winning chef makes, frankly, sensational food. Personal highlights include scotch egg tapas and pancetta-wrapped chicken served with polenta mash.

Ambience

A traditional brass bar, exposed brickwork and sturdy wooden furniture give it a homely feel. Older expats flicking through the Sunday papers chat away with holidaymakers flicking through their guidebooks.

Service

The staff are casual, yet smart and polite.

Location

It's down a small side street just off the main drag, Paseo Levante.

Price advice

It's not overly priced, which makes a nice change for this part of the coast. A two-course dinner will cost around 22 euros a head.
