Food and drink
Cocotte bills itself as a casual take on hearty French country cooking, to be shared family style so dishes are on the small side. Fried tripe in court bouillon came highly recommended by our waiter, but we opted for the juicy roast chicken, poulet roti. And it wouldn’t be French if you didn’t try the snails, escargot gougeres, sandwiched between cheese puff burgers.
It’s all about ‘industrial glamour’ in the lobby of the Wanderlust Hotel, but in Cocotte, there are wooden floors and wine crates and a hint of gingham. The designer light hanging over the main communal table in the centre is a feature. This is an on-trend establishment.
The waiters obviously very new, and the service was a little hesitant, but charming and polite nonetheless.
Cocotte is situated in the lobby of the Wanderlust Hotel in Little India, so this isn’t a restaurant you’d stumble past in the street. Little India and Bugis MRT stations are about a 15minute walk away.
You can expect to pay around $30-40 per person for lunch, and roughly $60-80 per person for dinner, not including alcohol.
Tables to book
The large table in the centre of the room seats eight people and makes a wonderful design statement.
