Great Japanese food in pretty surroundings at the edge of the Alameda.

This is Seville's newest Japanese restaurant, and I think it's one of the best.

Food and drink

There's a nice selection of soups and starters – the tuna tataky is amazing. I also like the mixed tempura – light and crisp and tasty. And the sushi is better than you can usually find elsewhere in Seville. During the week (Tuesday–Friday) there is a 10 euros lunch special that is excellent value. But be aware that the 8% VAT is not included in the prices on the menu.

Ambience

Simple and modern, it's very tastefully done. But they have joss sticks burning all over the place, which I personally find unbearable. Especially with such delicately flavoured food – it knocks your tastebuds for six. Happily they will put out the incense if you ask them.

Service

Service is courteous and efficient.

Location

Just on the edge of the Alameda de Hercules, it's about a 20-minute walk from the old centre of town and 5-10 minutes from the main shopping area.

Price advice

Starters cost 4-7 euros, with the exception of the tuna tataky, which is 10 euros. The best value are the mixed sushi and tempura dishes, from 12-15 euros. Dinner for two with wine will cost you 50-60 euros per person.
