Food and drink
The best way to get the most from your visit here is to go for the tasting menu, as in this way you can really experience the ingenuity of the kitchen. On my visit the meal got off to a fascinating start with an egg shell that, once opened revealed raw egg suspended in pork jelly with slices of truffle; the 'egg white' was a green tomato foam frothed with milk. This is clever cooking with fine ingredients. The wine list runs to 75 pages…
The dining room is rather formal (and slightly at odds with the modern menu) but decorated with warm Mediterranean tones of sand, terracotta and cream, with wooden carved chairs and candle-lit linen-clothed tables. Perfect for a romantic dinner à deux.
It's of a extremely high standard. Solicitous waiting staff can describe and explain every dish and, if you're staying at the hotel staff address you by name. The award-winning sommelier is attentive and helpful with selecting wines.
The restaurant of [node:120211] is a short walk (uphill) from Ravello's main square.
As well as the à la carte, there are two tasting menus starting at 85 euros. It's pricey, but a small price to pay for an unforgettable meal.
