Food and drink

It’s all about the broiled steak here, slabs of excellent porterhouse cooked to perfection served with creamed spinach or crispy hash brown potatoes. But if you are a vegetarian look elsewhere.

Ambience

The space isn’t much to look at but the tables of bankers and bachelor party groups are here for the steak not the design.

Service

The staff are gruff but once your order arrives you won’t care.

Location

Just over the Manhattan Bridge but easily accessible by cab or subway.

Price advice

The steak for two will set you back US$85 and that’s before the sides, appetizers and drinks, so best to go here on an expense account or at lunch when there are several specials for less than US$15.

Tables to book

Since they are all relatively the same, the main thing is to just get a reservation.
