Food and drink
You can have almost anything here, from a lunchtime salad, burger or pizza to afternoon tea, cocktails or dinner. But it will almost certainly come with an exotic twist. The risotto comes with Perrier-Jouet champagne, oysters and watercress pesto. Even the tea is complicated. The 'sweet love', for instance, took my fancy – black tea with ginseng and liquorice roots, spices, guarana seed and pink pepper!
La Dolce Vita, dahling! Very glamorous young people in big sunglasses lounge around low tables on a broad terrace on the 7th floor of La Rinascente department store, so close that you could almost reach out and touch the Duomo. This is a place to be seen.
If this were Hollywood, the staff here would all be wannabe actors, as its Milan, presumably they are wannabe models. They are young, charming and nearly as good looking as the clientele.
On the roof terrace of La Rinascente, right by the Duomo, almost within touching distance of the spires.
Prices vary hugely throughout the day, but remain high. Expect to pay around eight euros for a drink, 60-80 euros for three courses without wine.
