Some of the cheapest food on the Strip, in an excellent location.

The Victorian Room at Bill's Gamblin' Hall and Saloon is one of those places which lures you in with mythical deals (US$5.99 for steak and eggs) and then catches you out with the small print (only available before 11am). However, unlike other places, the rest of the menu is very affordable and the quality's pretty decent, too. If you need a quick snack mid-Strip, this is a good choice.

Food and drink

There's a big menu that takes you through the day from breakfast to midnight snacks, and there's everything from breakfast dishes to a Chinese menu and sandwiches to choose from. The lunch special on Chinese dishes (US$10.99 including rice) is always popular, as is the $14.99 steak deal. You won't be raving about your meal, but it's comparable to most pub food in the UK.

Recommended dishes

You can't beat the steak and eggs for $5.99 but it's only available from midnight to 11am.

Ambience

It's an informal, in-and-out kind of place. Plenty of families and young people on a budget come here, so it's pretty low maintenance. It's not self-service, though - everything is brought to you.

Service

Pretty brisk but if you're nice to the servers, they'll be nice to you.

Location

In Bill's Gamblin' Hall and Saloon - a budget casino in a plum position opposite Caesars. It's not the classiest, but it's handy.

Price advice

Breakfast from US$5, sandwiches from US$8.99 and a special Chinese lunch menu gets you a choice of six dishes, plus rice, for US$10.99. Portions are big and doggie bags are provided.
