Food and drink
Pastas, grilled meats and fish, and a variety of tempting lighter bites such as levrek (sea bass) carpaccio with arugula, olive oil, and lemon sauce or a salad of oven-roasted spicy octopus with fennel, green apples, red peppers, and arugula. Full bar and well-made (if pricey) coffee drinks.
Locals and tourists alike come to eat and meet in the sleek, minimalistic dining room and -- especially -- on the long waterfront terrace.
Service is crisp and fairly formal.
Right on the water in the industrial, but rapidly developing Tophane neighbourhood. The area still holds a working port, so if there’s a big cruise ship in dock, I've learned from experience that it will likely block the usually enjoyable view.
Main courses range from 13 lira for the cheapest pasta dish to 45 lira for fish.
