Wild about Chinese food? Here's something that's even wilder!

This is a bold foray into some of the lesser known Chinese cuisines - and delivered in surroundings that match the menu perfectly. Great for getting a flavour of the Middle Kingdom in all senses.

Food and drink

The menu starts in northern China and then forges beyond to Mongolia and Tibet. Some of the dishes are extra spicy, so take care! Some of the Chinese wines (osmanthus flower) may not be appreciated by all palates.

Recommended dishes

Try the roast duck marinated in tea leaves and herbs.

Ambience

It's been called 'Ancient China Chic' - loads of Buddhas and other artifacts, low lighting, miles of pink and red fabric and the place is festooned with lanterns. Be aware that it can be noisy here.

Service

The customer is emperor - that is, they take good care of you.

Location

It's roughly on the border of SoHo and Lan Kwai Fong. Don't be put off by Yun Fu's being in a basement - this just adds to the terrific atmosphere.

Price advice

Two should be able to eat well for HK$800.
