4.1

If Bollywood was a kitchen, this is the sort of food they'd prepare.

Indian cuisine has been a part of Hong Kong dining since its early days as a British colony. Cheap and cheerful curry joints there are without number - but Bombay Dreams is cheerful, good value and tip top quality. Like most Brits, I love a curry, and with plenty of Indian restaurants to choose from here, this is my fav.

Food and drink

This is solidly traditional, high quality Indian cuisine, overseen by master chef Ahmed Qureshi.

Recommended dishes

Classics like Goan fish curry and lamb cooked with cashew nuts and poppy seeds get me every time.

Ambience

It is very well to do, and patronised by some of the city's most influential Indian dynasties, as well as anyone who simply loves Indian grub.

Service

Service is punctilious and merry at the same time, if that seems credible.

Location

Bridging SoHo and Lan Kwai Fong, this part of town is home to a fair few restaurants and bars.

Price advice

Lunchtime buffets are as popular for their generosity as their reasonable prices. If eating a la carte, expect to pay around HK$150 for main dishes.
