Food and drink
Pizza, pasta, antipasto, all the staples are here. You'd think that the food would come second to the sublime, beachside setting, but it's among the best Italians in town.
I've tried most of the pizzas (it was a birthday party and I stole plenty from my neighbours plates) and they're all superb. Try the Bussola pizza, a light affair with a splash of truffle oil.
Sat by the beach with views across the ocean, the atmosphere is suitably unstuffy, so don't worry about dining in your flipflops. It attracts a fair few parties, but thankfully doesn't get particularly rowdy.
It can be a little slow on busier nights, but otherwise is generally excellent.
It's at the back of the Westin Dubai Mina Seyahi Beach Resort and Marina, facing the beach and the Arabian Gulf.
A three-course meal for two without a bottle of wine will probably cost around 400-500 dirhams. Pizzas are priced 60-90 dirhams.
