- Expensive

4.1

An expensive oasis of exotica in a wonderful parkland setting.

In this florid dining room in the grounds of the Royal Danish Garden Society you'll find cleverly crafted modern cuisine that's a hit with locals as well as savvy visitors.

Food and drink

A look at the menu confirms that this restaurant goes with the modern Scandinavian craze for exotic, foraged local ingredients you'd never heard of before, which can go horribly wrong in inexperienced hands but it works here. There's a pretty compendious and high-end wine list, mostly French, to go with it the food. Be warned though this is a expensive place and the portions are modest.

Recommended dishes

We seem to be in Noma-type territory here Mackerel with elderberry, carrot with coffee and sea buckthorn, cottage cheese with rosehip.

Ambience

The room is lovely, the florid design almost extends the gardens into the restaurant.

Service

The service was disappointingly slow.

Location

Way out in Frederiksberg you'll want to get a taxi here or hire a bike of course.

Price advice

Expect to pay about 850 krone for the full dinner menu without wine (the same again for matched wine courses).
