Food and drink
The tropeiros - the first Brazilian cowboys - like gauchos, love their meat sizzling and dripping over charcoal – this is exactly what you get at this churrascaria (steak house). There is no menu; everyone pays a set price and the food is served at your table by wandering carvers rodizio style, which basically means you get fresh meat every five minutes until you can take it no longer. The salads and accompanying dishes are taken buffet style.
There’s quite a buzz inside Tropeiro, partly thanks to the roaming meat-providers. The decor is simple and rustic.
Fun and attentive.
City centre, though not on a main pedestrian route. If you’re from out of town, you’ll need the map.
The set price hovers around £18. You need to be ravenous to get value for money.
