Food and drink
I seldom make it past the breakfast when I eat here but the menu has enough to fit any meal requirement from the morning to the evening. Lavish burgers, interesting salads and light bites are all on offer, as is a fair range of beers and wine if you’re stepping out a little later in the day.
There’s a selection of breakfasts depending on just how hungry you are. Go on, be a devil and get their legendary fat bastard breakfast; with triple eggs, triple bacon, triple sausages and triple hash browns, not only do I guarantee on it filling you up for the rest of the day, it’s as low on the grease factor as a cooked breakfast will ever get.
Bright, breezy and full of chuckles. Every time I’ve visited Cafe Calcio it seems full of people treating themselves, pretending they’re blessed with the free time of a hundred students. Their thoughtful choice of music doesn’t hurt proceedings either; Cafe Calcio is a blueprint for how all cafes should be in the 21st century.
Laid back and happy; there’s an easy going vibe to Cafe Calcio every time I eat there.
Welcome to studentville... Crwys Road awash with diners, takeaways and second hand shops. There’s never a dull moment.
You’ll never pay over £10 for your meal. The top breakfast is £9.95, but if you eat every morsell they’ll only charge you £6.95. A large latte is £1.95 and beers are usually £2.50 a bottle.
Tables to book
You can’t book a table, but try and treat yourself to one of the settees at the large window so you can enjoy your grub as the world goes by.
