Food and drink
The menu contains hearty Hungarian and international offerings, including goose liver, venison and several beef dishes using grey cattle (an ancient Hungarian breed). However, it would be a shame to skip one of the excellent duck specialities on which the restaurant prides itself.
The restaurant is formal in style, but without any stuffiness. There’s live piano and violin music in the evening.
Attentive and proper, I found the waiters very willing to offer recommendations.
A short distance to the south of Margaret Island, it's on the main street running through Buda’s Víziváros (Water Town).
The main courses are between 3,500 forints and 5,500 forints; you can get crispy duck with sour cherry sauce for 4,600 forints.
