4.3

High-design Italian on the water’s edge.

Another from the Tragaluz group of restaurants (see also the nearby [node:167686]), Bestial is their foray into Italian cuisine. Don’t be fooled by its seaside location – this is a smart, hip place with food to match.

Food and drink

Pizza and pasta are the mainstays, but don’t be expecting huge steaming portions de la nonna – this is smart, designer food and you won’t get Chianti in a basket either.

Ambience

The decked terrace with its gnarled olive trees sits right on the beach, or you can admire the sharp architectural lines and monochrome cool of the dining room.

Service

Varies a great deal – I’ve experienced frosty and friendly in equal measure.

Location

Like Agua, Bestial sits on the beach, right under Frank Gehry’s towering copper fish sculpture.

Price advice

There is a set lunch for 17 euros, but be warned there’s a 5 euros supplement if you eat outside.
