A cool, functional and stylish concept. This is a bargain that's really hard to beat.

Architectural design, Zeitgeist, sleek comfort and convenience give this hotel an edge over many others. It is one of the best bargains in the city. Air-conditioned rooms, high-speed internet and many other features make this a good choice for those looking for a trendy and modern place to stay.

Location

I wouldn't say that this is in the city centre, however, the underground stops very close by and within minutes you're in the heart of Vienna. If you're flying into Bratislava Airport (eg with Ryanair) buses stop very close by at Erdbergstrasse. The hotel is very close to the Gasometer City – originally the old gasworks consisting of four huge gas storage tanks (the largest of their kind in Europe). When Vienna converted its gas supply to natural gas the gasometers were abandoned. But due to the historic importance of these gigantic brick cylinders they were listed and fifteen years ago four internationally renowned architects converted these tanks into living quarters with over 600 apartments in total, shopping malls and event halls. Today this is quite a fascinating architectural focal point in what would otherwise be considered a rather drab part of the city.

Bedrooms

I'd compare this to an Ikea-like, minimalist style with a pleasant, bright decor – greens, browns, purples and reds – throughout. Flat screen TVs, high-speed internet and air conditioning in every room, adds that little bit of luxury. The bathrooms are spotless (as are the rooms) some have tubs but most are fitted with superb showers.

Public areas

A garden and a porch, accessible from the breakfast room, add a countryside atmosphere to the whole place.

Eating and drinking

A fine buffet breakfast is available although not included in the room rate. Besides that, decent meals are served in the funky a la carte restaurant and the bar is open 24/7.

Leisure facilities

There's a fitness room with lots of equipment if you want a good work-out – open from 6am - 10pm all for free.

Service

Helpful and quite friendly.
