Star rating:
4 star hotel

4.2

A great location with fabulous shopping nearby and good bargains on offer.

When it comes to spacious accommodation, this hotel offers one of the best options. There are small and large suites available, most with separate sitting rooms, some with kitchenettes – useful for self-catering. A colourful, giant, eye-catching mosaic, known as “Adam”, shines down from the front façade of the building. This amazing work of art was created by one of Austria's best known living artists, Christian Ludwig Attersee, after whom the hotel was named.

Location

Mariahilferstrasse, Vienna's busiest commercial boulevard and one of my favourite choices for residing whilst staying in Vienna, is home to this stylish and spacious choice of abode. This address is close enough to the main railway and underground station, Westbahnhof, to walk to. Zieglergasse, the nearest tube stop is a minute from here.

Bedrooms

As a practical, but messy, person myself, I love hotels that give you lots of surfaces to cover with “stuff” within minutes of arriving. This explains one of the reasons I like this hotel. I've got space to spread out... Suites at NH Attersee are smooth lined, well serviced and the layout is very sensible. Accommodation is stylishly furnished with either light and dark wood floors or carpet, light-coloured furnishings and air-conditioning that works well. Larger suites have a separate living room with a bar/kitchenette area fitted with a microwave. Bathrooms are well equipped, spotless and toiletries are from Agua de la Tierra. Another practical point: most rooms have separate toilets.

Public areas

The reception has a small seating area.

Eating and drinking

The 6th floor restaurant offers a full hearty breakfast buffet with plenty of hot dishes, from 6.30 till 11am, and a wonderful rooftop view to boot.

A spa, fitted with a sauna and fitness equipment, is available free of charge for guests.

The young and friendly staff members speak fluent English and are eager to help.
