Smart Paris: in a beautiful period building on the corner of place Vendôme and rue St-Honoré, think fashion designers and jewellers, although you're also very near to [node:168630] and the Tuileries.
All of the rooms, except the Art Deco Presidential Suite, are a luxurious take on period style with ruched fabrics, tassels and chandeliers. The deluxe doubles – decent sized rooms overlooking the street – are a better deal than the junior suites. Marble bathrooms have big baths made to soak in.
The hotel has a smart and shiny marble lobby.
Eating and drinking
On the first floor, the Restaurant Le 1 Place Vendôme has a discrete boudoir-like feel, with jazzy houndstooth chairs; new chef Nicolas Rucheton makes the most of seasonal regional produce. It's also a bar and lounge, open for Afternoon Tea or evening drinks, with a huge choice of malt whiskies.
Rather surprisingly for such a luxurious setting, the hotel lacks a spa or gym, although it does have two meeting rooms.
Uniformed reception staff, with concierges ready to book restaurants, operas and other services.
