Relaxing Boutique Hotel with a World Class Spa

Mamaison Spa Hotel Pokrovka Moscow is a great option for those looking for a modern take on luxury, whether you're in the city on business or for pleasure. Slightly larger than Moscow's other boutique hotels, you stand a good chance of getting a reservation, even if you are booking last minute. One of the hotel's major selling points is the spa, including Turkish and Russian saunas. There is also a hair and beauty salon, so it is a good base for a hen party. Located in the heart of Moscow, the area is charming and relatively close to the city's major attractions. It is not that close to the nearest metro station, so it may not be the best choice if you do not like walking or find it harder to get around.

Location

The hotel is located in a nice, bustling area, close to nice restauarants, cafes and bars. It is not as central as some of the city's other top hotels, but that is reflected in the price, which is more reasonable than most.

Bedrooms

Mamaison Spa Hotel Pokrovka has 84 suites, decorated in a sleek, contemporary style. Rooms include a small kitchen - perfect if your schedule makes eating out difficult. The larger suites would be a good option if you are in town on business and want an informal area to conduct meetings,

Public areas

The reception area is pleasant, and comfortable enough to pass some time over a coffee. The spa and relaxation areas are first class, but the restaurant and bar can feel a little empty. If you need to grab a quick bite after a long day, the food and service are good, but if you are looking for a more lively atmosphere, you are best off leaving the hotel.

Eating and drinking

The Numbers restaurant offers a fresh take on classic dishes in a stylish atmosphere and is open 24 hours. Breakfast might leave some disappointed and is not included in the room price, but there are plenty of cafes and restaurants in the area. The bar is nice, but often quite empty. There are usually a few guests relaxing with a drink, but it does not attract many locals or those not staying in the hotel.

Leisure facilities

The spa is wonderful, offering a great range of treatments as well as a sauna and a pool. You might be disappointed if you need somewhere to work out, but for relaxation it is certainly one of Moscow's better options.

Service

Service is one of the hotel's selling points, with friendly staff used to dealing with foreign customers and happy to help with matters relating to your stay as well as advice on what to see in the city and how to book tours, theatre tickets and tables.

Who stays there

The hotel is popular with a younger crowd and business people, mainly foreigners.

Price advice

Prices are reasonable for a luxury hotel in Moscow, so if you are prepared to sacrifice an extremely central location, it is a good option.
