Good family hotel in central Gueliz.

Part of a small chain of hotels (there are seven in Marrakech and one in Essaouira), the Ryad Mogador Opera is a comfortable hotel which, while far from glamorous, should tick most boxes if you’re looking for an affordable family holiday in Marrakech and want somewhere the kids can run around and enjoy. Located near the main railway station and opposite the Royal Opera House, within easy access of the cafés and shops of the Gueliz, the hotel is spacious and well-maintained. It has a swimming pool and spa facilities as well as a restaurant and café/snack bar.

Location

The hotel is on Avenue Mohammed VI, opposite the Royal Opera House and near the junction with Avenue Hassan II.

Bedrooms

There are 111 rooms – 76 twin and 35 doubles. All the rooms have balconies, TVs, internet connection and air conditioning.

Public areas

There’s a restaurant, a café/snack bar, a swimming pool and terrace with sunloungers, and a basement spa.

Eating and drinking

The hotel restaurant serves Moroccan food and some international dishes. It's nothing to write home about and with so many other interesting places to try nearby, you'll probably want to eat out most of the time - but if you do eat there you'll have a pleasant enough time. The café/snack bar at the front of the hotel makes good coffee and is quite popular with locals and hotel guests alike.

Leisure facilities

There is a 20m swimming pool, gym and spa including heated indoor pool; hammam, massages and other treatments are available.

Service

Staff are used to helping guests with a huge range of requirements, from room maintenance issues to baby-sitting to organising treks in the mountains. They’re not the most smiley bunch, but they generally get things done!

Who stays there

Couples, families and tour groups (this may help explain why the staff are not the most smiley bunch!).
