Directly behind the lovely yacht marina of Los Gigantes where you can go on whale- and dolphin-watching trips. The apartments are behind a row of restaurants which line the marina and are opposite the El Laguillo swimming-pool complex.
The apartments are clean and roomy but don’t expect any flashy facilities. Most have traditional white walls and pine furniture, a galley kitchen with everything you need to prepare basic meals, and good sized balconies with views over the eponymous ‘giant’ cliffs of the resort and the marina.
Apartments are in traditional, Canarian styled, two-storey blocks featuring carved wooden balconies. The grounds are nicely maintained by the community, with window boxes of scarlet geraniums and walkways lined with bougainvillea and hibiscus.
Eating and drinking
The apartments are self catering and there are lots of places to eat right on the doorstep with everything from full English breakfast to gourmet dining a short stroll away.
The Poblado owners also own the César Manrique-designed El Laguillo swimming pool complex opposite and guests have free usage. The complex is chic and tranquil as families prefer the more facilities-rich Club Oasis along the coast. Don’t miss the opportunity to take a whale-watching trip on one of the marina’s pleasure boats - it will be a highlight of the holiday.
Staff are friendly and helpful but their English is limited.
