4.5

Ultra modern and with all the VIP trimmings of its namesake club with free nightly entrance.

Shimmy across the road from Ibiza’s most iconic nightclub and prepare to be dazzled by its sister hotel, every bit as flashy, chic and sophisticated as its clientele. Designed with the VIP crowd in mind, El Hotel caters to your every whim… including whisking you in the VIP entrance of the club every night.

Location

So close to the club you can feel the energy! Just across the road in fact, situated in a residential area in between the club and the new marina. While it no longer boasts views due to the apartment complexes that have sprung up in the street, and lacks the cool factor of being on the waterfront, the bonus for me was that I could walk home from the club in killer heels.

Bedrooms

The perfect place to sleep it off… or, as I have been known to do, keep the party going just a little bit longer! I love the stark contrast between the pristine white contemporary décor and clunky wooden tables. I love getting ready to go out here too, there’s something just so glam about the bathrooms – the entire experience actually; VIP all the way.

Public areas

The lobby and lounge area have, quite possibly, the fastest WiFi on the island. Sleek, white and almost dazzling, it’s very impressive as you check in… yet slightly alarming when you come back from the club.

Eating and drinking

The small restaurant serves up great Mediterranean fare and is a good spot for a pre-clubbing fuel up. The ultra modern and stark white bar on the opposite side of reception is a great place to meet like-minded travellers and there are often fashion or art shows with great DJs, making it the oerfect place to kick start your evening.

Leisure facilities

There’s a small swimming pool out past the restaurant, but it’s quite a disappointment given the surrounding apartment complexes dominating the skyline. I’d be more likely to head to the beach.

Service

It’s safe to say, given the nature of the club and hotel, that the staff here have seen it all, yet they’re always professional, friendly and helpful – even in the most unusual of circumstances.

Who stays there

A large percentage of the folk on the dance floor in the club! The VIP crowd, clubbing enthusiasts and Pacha DJs alike flock to this hotel – definitely not one for families.

Price advice

Buffet breakfast is included in the price, as is nightly entry to the famous club - through the VIP entrance no less – the best perk I’ve ever received from a hotel.
