Address: 11 Morrison Hill Road, Causeway Bay, Hong Kong, China

Star rating:
3 star hotel

3.6

Forget the “Not tonight, Josephine” gags: this hotel’s well priced and well laid out.

Quite a lot of hotels like this have sprung up of late: a sort of motel but with nowhere to park your car, so expect good bed, reasonable board, and not a whole lot else.

Location

Not quite middle of nowhere, but between Happy Valley, Causeway Bay and Wan Chai. The MTR is a fair hike, but the tram goes right past the front door.

Bedrooms

There are four categories – standard (on the lower floors), business (a bit higher up), premium (corners of each floor), and executive (at the top). The higher up the building, the better the views, the larger the space and, yes, the steeper the rate. Fresh and bright, if not hugely spacious, the rooms are very liveable.

Public areas

Not much apart from the lobby and meeting room.

Eating and drinking

"Café x Lounge", the only outlet, might be confusingly named, but it’s a very welcome place to hunker down and snack WiFi or chinwag. There is endless opportunity to eat and drink more sophisticatedly in the immediate neighbourhood.

Leisure facilities

Perhaps the self-service laundry doesn’t really count…

Service

Relaxed, informed, and very helpful.

Who stays there

There’s a significant business market, but also a lot of leisure travellers.

Price advice

Stiff competition at this level of the industry ensures there are plenty of deals, whether aimed at OAPs or families hell bent on theme parks.
