In the heart of the city, safe to walk to and from and in walking distance of many shops, restaurants and tourist sights.
The spacious bedrooms are laced with antiques and hints of African charm. The entire hotel was refurbished a few years ago and the newer contemporary details (eg in the bathrooms) combine well with the high ceilings, oversized faded Persian rugs and antiquey details, from four poster beds to impressive wardrobes.
Relax in the downstairs courtyard shared by Caveau wine bar and deli or share some quiet time on the upstairs Jacuzzi with its city and mountain views. There's also a charming lounge and library.
Eating and drinking
The breakfast buffet has all the expected cold offerings while there are cooked specialities too. Reservations can be made at any of the hotels on the square and in-room dining from these eateries can be arranged too. Picnic baskets are also available to order for outings.
There is a rooftop deck with Jacuzzi.
The service here is personable but it can be stretched at times.
