Rosebank is one of the Southern Suburb's grittier suburbs with pockets of pretty. Banksia is situated in a quiet residential road.
There are eight, individually decorated en suite rooms, each dressed in soothing tones and tactile finishes - think padded headboards and a mix of elegant fabrics and contemporary furniture. I loved my room with its balcony and mountain views and I think this is definitely the side of the property to ask to sleep on.
The undercover pool area is a popular place for down time while the lounge feels like a welcoming living room in one's own home. There are two rooms that can be booked for conferencing or private dining.
Eating and drinking
Feast off the café-style breakfast menu and let the staff order in supper should you not feel like dining out. Functions such as High Teas and dinners can be arranged.
The conservatory-like pool area is a good spot for chilling out.
The service here is what you'd expect from a small and considered owner-run property - personable and eager to please.

Pros & Cons
- Personal service
- Convenience in the Southern Suburbs
- As it is a converted home, suites have their idiosyncrasies
- The area itself is not the most glamorous and walking around at night is not recommended
