At the far end of the main promenade, so the centre of Cadaqués with its shops, restaurants, cafes and bars is within a leisurely few minutes’ amble. If you follow the coastal path around the bay you can walk to the Dalí House Museum at Port Lligat in about half an hour, otherwise it’s about a ten-minute drive away. Figueres with its major Dalí museum is less than an hour away by car or bus.
The rooms are all simply furnished with modern, terracotta floor tiles, whitewashed walls and unfussy wooden beds. Beds are big and comfortable enough but it you're travelling with your other half and would rather a double bed rather than two singles, it's definitely worth specifying in advance. Failing that, if you ask at reception, they''ll have the beds pushed together and made up as one with one
The sea-view rooms are definitely worth paying that little bit extra for though. Otherwise, go for the garden/pool view rooms which are nice and tranquil, rather than the ones looking out onto the internal courtyard.
There’s a small, well-stocked bar and a series of lounge areas on the ground floor. The furnishings and style are a bit bland for my taste, but the large windows looking out to the harbour right outside mean the views are lovely.
Eating and drinking
Buffet breakfast is served in the dining room. It's not the best breakfast I've had, but the views are unbeatable. There’s also a lunch menu available by the pool.
Tennis courts and a large rectangular pool with sun loungers, surrounded by olive trees and gardens. There’s an outdoor Jacuzzi by the pool as well as a hammam inside. They can also arrange hire of mountain-bikes and kayaks.
Helpful on the whole.
Who stays there
A mix of international couples and families, with quite a few walkers.
Parking costs extra (and is not cheap), and you’ll need your niftiest parking skills as there isn’t much room to manoeuvre in the hotel car park.
