Star rating:
3 star hotel

4.1

A charming mix of old and new make this ‘art-meets-antique’ hotel a classic.

Staying here is definitely a memorable experience: from the antique iron-door elevator that takes you up to your room, to the period pieces and artworks (check out the sculpture by Spanish artist Chema Alvargonzales in the breakfast salon), this hotel feels something like a Parisian-style pension.

Location

Hotel Art Nouveau is located on the fourth floor of a City West apartment house. The hotel is a two-minute walk from the Ku’damm.

Bedrooms

The 22 bedrooms are generously sized, each one individually designed to reflect a different concept. There’s the Red Room, Yellow Room and Literary Room…all featuring warm colours, wooden floors, stucco ceilings, antiques from the owners’ own collection and quirky details, such as the ring-bound notebook bed head in the Red Room. Black-and-white photographs and art works by Berlin artists add to their charm.

Eating and drinking

A generous buffet breakfast, prepared using only organic produce, is served in the breakfast room. Breakfast is the only meal served at the Art Nouveau, but there is an honour bar for drinks and snacks, and plenty of nearby restaurants.

Service

Warm and friendly; it feels like staying in a friend’s house. The owners speak fluent English and are knowledgeable about the local area.
