At the western side of Benalmadena Costa, Sunset Beach Club is only separated from the sea by a pretty 700-metre long promenade and a landscaped public garden.
All apartments have a lounge with a double sofa bed, a dining area with table and four chairs, a separate bedroom accessed via sliding doors, a fully equipped kitchen, modern bathroom, storage room for golf bags, and a large balcony with table and chairs. It’s great being able to see the sun glistening off the sea without having to move out of your bed, so I always make sure I request a sea-facing apartment, otherwise you could get an interior/mountain view.
Reception and hallways are all polished marble floors, deep red or wood walls and glass panels, so the feel is modern, if a little corporate.
Eating and drinking
Depending on the time of year, Sunset Beach Club hotel offers a choice of up to six different bars and restaurants to be enjoyed during your holiday.
All year round, the main restaurant, Oasis Restaurant, Bar & Terrace is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Service starts with a hot buffet breakfast, which is the perfect start to your day. For lunch and dinner, there’s a full a la carte menu, with a great value range of snacks and meals. There are some tasty, but fairly basic, evening set menus starting at just 14 euros per person for two courses.
The Omega games room and mini bowling on the fifth floor will keep the kids entertained. In addition, there’s a hair and beauty salon, fitness centre and indoor pool (five euros for kids and eight for adults), and nightly entertainment by some well-known local singers in the cabaret bar.
Efficient, English-speaking and friendly. The staff go out of their way to be accommodating.
