About me
As an introduction to backpacking I started with a one-way ticket to Russia in 1992. Having subsequently experienced food shortages, Moscow style, my next novice move was to simply jump on to the Trans Siberian railway and figure it out from there. By the time I arrived in Beijing I could have been tried for attempted manslaughter, luckily I walked out of the railway station with no charges pending, but many pounds lighter, both physically and financially! Eighteen years later, following a generous redundancy cheque, I'm reliving the dream!
