About me

I jumped into writing ranting about travel consumer issues in 2005, on the Travel Rants Blog. Who would have guessed years later that I would win a travel award, be interviewed live on radio in UK, Ireland and Australia. Interviewed on a consumer TV programme for the BBC (Eek!) and quoted/mentioned in national UK newspapers. Writing the blog has taken me out of my comfort zone. In 2009 I decided I needed a new challenge, and could see a gap for locally written content, especially for my home city, so I launched My Life in Leeds, where I spend most of my time marketing and promoting it online and offline. I have five excellent local writers who love sharing their experiences of our home city.

I am not a travel writer - just someone who loves to share his experiences and write about the issues that consumers have with travel.
