Don’t come to Chester expecting an abundance of attractions. There is a handful of things to do; the main joy of Chester is simply wandering the streets and soaking up the atmosphere and history. And most of the best attractions, like the walls, the rows, the river and the amphitheatre, are free, gratis, on the house, complimentary. Delightful.
How I’ve picked my things to do:
I’ve picked the things to do in Chester that first-time visitors should try; they’re also the things I did when I moved here. From the racecourse to the zoo to the walls, everything is suitable for all ages (though whether the kids will appreciate the cathedral is another thing). There’s also a range of budget options. If you think something else should be included – do let me know!
