No-one visiting Lanzarote will want to miss one or more of its beaches, and my selection of things to do includes all the island's most attractive sandy stretches, but don't make the mistake of not leaving the coast. The island has an extraordinary inland landscape, which includes dramatic volcanic scenery, some lovely little wineries and dazzling César Manrique attractions – these are all 'must sees'. I would urge you to take time to also visit one of more of the lovely village farmers' markets – there is a different one on almost every day of the week and to spend a day on the wonderfully sleepy island of Graciosa.

How I’ve picked my things to do:

These are my absolute favourite things to do on Lanzarote. They cover the whole range from things to do with kids, to local festivals and really getting away from it all. There are suggestions for flopping on the beach, as well as what to do if you are an adrenaline junky. Almost all are good value – many are even free. A number of the lovely César Manrique attractions are on my list, as well as historical sights in the form of museums and castles. An atmospheric inland village is featured here, as well as an exotic camel safari, and a fascinating wine tour. Let me know what you think about my choices. I may have missed something that you value as important, or that you think I have got it completely wrong. Hopefully, you have tried out my recommendations and had a delightful holiday as a result. Either way please let me know. Many of these suggestions of things to do are timeless options, but things do change and these recommendations will be updated regularly.
